Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how I collect and use your personal information when you visit jayneandrews.com or get in touch with me.

Who I am

The data controller is Jayne Andrews Marketing & Ideas Consultancy Limited (also trading as Client in the Room), registered in England and Wales, company number 16737811, registered office 9 Croft Terrace, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 2HQ. For any questions about this policy or your data, email getjayneandrews@gmail.com.

What I collect

  • Information you give me, such as your name, email address, phone number, company and the details of your enquiry, when you email me or contact me on LinkedIn.
  • Basic technical information collected when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, which is used to run and protect the site.

How and why I use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation (legitimate interests, or steps before entering a contract).
  • To deliver the work you’ve asked me to do (contract).
  • To meet my legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
  • Occasionally, to tell you about services similar to ones you’ve bought from or discussed with me (legitimate interests). You can opt out at any time by replying to say so.

I don’t sell your data, and I don’t use it for automated decision-making.

Who I share it with

I use trusted providers to run my business, who process data on my behalf: website hosting (Lovable) and email (Google). Some of these providers are based in the USA. Where data is transferred there, it is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US Data Bridge.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to two years. Client records: six years after the work ends, to meet tax and accounting rules. After that, I delete them securely.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed for it to work. If I add analytics in future, I’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, to ask me to delete it, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email me. There’s normally no charge, and I’ll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
